城市雕塑与城市可以互相参照，孙振华首先谈到，欣赏雕塑就是阅读城市，阅读城市很重要的就是感受、感知我们这座城市的一些故事。

    孙振华谈到了“孺子牛”的故事。他透露，特区成立后要做雕塑，首先想到的是大鹏和莲花，但最终觉得开荒牛很有代表性，我们过去就讲要有老黄牛的精神，继承了传统，而且开荒牛可以表现深圳第一批的建设者，也代表了开放初期很多开放的观念，比如说牛可以拔除旧观念等。
